The Dangler Guys (TDG) humbly began in the basement of a home in Warren, MI in 2000. Started under the impression that TDG could make cables for plating shops considerably cheaper than our competitors, we were also committed to a quality product, and stand by that commitment to this day. A number of years later, TDG grew to 30 customers, we saw this as a definite start in the right direction, and ran with our success. Knowing the potential of the market, Brad Hatcher came on board in 2010. TDG moved to a 10k square foot facility at this time, which allowed room for growth. By the end of 2010, our customer base had grown to 110 customers, and lead times had gone from 1 week down to only 2 days. Brad purchased TDG in 2012 and by the end of 2016; the need for an additional 10k square feet to be added to the building was apparent. The first two brand new HAAS ST-20 lathes were also bought by the end of 2016, and our customer base grew to 290 direct customers as well as 150 rep customers.
By purchasing the lathes, we were able to begin producing all of our own machined parts and also keep our lead times to same day shipping. The beginning of 2017 had us busting at the seams with the need for more space yet again in order to allow TDG to reach its full potential. We had begun to do overflow machining for local companies and in order to keep up with our own customer demand and also continue to do this, we purchased a much larger building a short distance away from the original shop in East Tawas. The move to Tawas City doubled our square footage to 40k square feet, and allowed business to continue to grow. Currently we have lathes with live tooling, mills, and a waterjet available.
